TouchMote - Control Windows 8 Metro From Your Couch
TouchMote is an application that lets you control Windows 8’s Metro interface from the comfort of your couch. All you need to do is connect your Wii’s sensor bar to the computer and pair up the Wiimote with the application’s Bluetooth. Then, you’ll be able to move through your applications with just a flick of your wrist.
It also supports a number of other features, including an onscreen keyboard that you can activate and assign to your favorite applications. These will serve as shortcuts and make using TouchMote even easier.
The best part is that you can use it with just about any MIDI compatible software, such as Ableton Live and Max/MSP. You can map your Wiimote’s buttons to trigger key strokes and MIDI events in any software, so it’s perfect for music and video producers.
Besides being an excellent Wiimote driver, TouchMote also supports the HID protocol that is used by the mouse and keyboard to interact with other hardware. It also has a clever way of displaying your MIDI inputs on screen and lets you configure it to load when a specific application opens.
TouchMote is a free application that was developed by Simphax and is available for download on the Web under The GNU General Public License (GNU GPL or GPL) license which means that it is fully functional for an unlimited time and that you have the freedom to run, study, share, and modify it.
